The City of Clyde needed a new police department building which could also be relocated in the future if required. A traditional modular construction approach was used for the 4,760 sq. ft. building which provides space for private offices for the chief of police and his support staff, a large training area for patrol officers, one intake and two interrogation rooms, and a patrol work room with an adjoining short-term holding area. It also contains large evidence and file storage areas, an I/T room, break room, armory, and shower and locker rooms. The city’s key motivations for the project were the speed that modular construction provides along with the control of the direct and indirect costs which required shifting as many work scopes as possible to the manufacturing phase.

Vance AFB – Crew Quarters

Ramtech developed this 6,550 sq. ft. modular building to use as living quarters while the base’s existing facility was remodeled. The temporary nature of the project mandated a limited permanent impact to the site, requiring the building to be easily disassembled and relocated. The building provides for 19 bedrooms and a private office, men’s and women’s restroom/locker-rooms, laundry room, janitor’s closets, a full kitchen, dining/day room, and fitness room. Using a double-loaded corridor layout, a combination of 12′ x 64′ and 12′ x 56′ modules were installed end-to-end, then perpendicularly connected to an off-set wing of 12′ x 62′ modules installed side-by-side. This allowed for the construction of the building utilizing only nine modules with no required site construction.

US Army Fort Meade – AV Training Facility

Housing studios, photography labs and journalism schools, the Defense Visual Information School (DVIS) was the Army’s primary facility for all forms of media training. Ramtech’s product and expertise was ideally suited for this fast-track project. Coordinating with the Corps and Maryland EPA, Ramtech developed the site and constructed / installed phase one. The successful execution of phase 1 lead the Corps to simply issued a change order for the second phase.

Bernalillo County – Detention Facility

Faced with a court order to relieve prison overcrowding, Bernalillo County officials needed a speedy resolution or faced the specter of jail time themselves. They turned to Ramtech for the design and construction of a facility consisting of four housing units, controlled entrance with sally-port, and centralized control center. The building features epoxy coated concrete flooring, smoke evacuation and detention grade hardware throughout.

Vance Air Force Base

Ramtech developed this 17,284 sq. ft. relocatable building on a five-year operating lease to be used for pilot training to address the shortage of pilots that currently exists across the U.S. Air Force. As part of the contract Ramtech provided all the furniture in the single-story complex which provides space for eight training classrooms, 15 offices, four operations rooms, a squadron briefing room, conference room, and an administrative reception area. The building exterior is designed with R-Panel metal siding and a TPO roof. The interior has vinyl covered gypsum on the walls and a combination of carpet tiles, vinyl composition tile, and sheet vinyl for the flooring. The heating and cooling of the facility is accommodated by 14 Bard Exterior Wall Mount ducted air-conditioners.

Hildago County – Interim Courthouse

Located in the center of down – town Edinburg, Texas, Hidalgo County’s decision to renovate their existing courthouse building created a series of challenges in how to secure adequate interim space for day to day operations during construction. To minimize the expense and the potential for costly delays, Hidalgo County chose to install three modular buildings totaling 14,000 square feet on a parking area adjacent to the existing courthouse. Ramtech provided assistance in the preplanning phase, and with the design and engineering for two buildings with five courtrooms, jury rooms, conference areas for the attorneys and their clients, judges chambers, offices for court staff and reporters, foyers with security at the public entrances, and an additional building for the county clerk’s office

San Antonio Solid Waste

The City of San Antonio’s Solid Waste Management Department provides services for several environmental programs in addition to collecting solid waste. Operating four centers within the City, the Department needed to consolidate some of their 482 employees to their Southeast maintenance and operations facility. Ramtech provided a 3,135 square foot relocatable modular building with eight private offices, men’s and women’s restrooms and showers, locker room area, break room, and a large central assembly area. Using traditional modular construction, the exterior of the building incorporates 26-guage R-panel siding with wood steps, ramps, and landings. The interior features VCG wall covering with a combination of VCT flooring and commercial grade carpet.

San Antonio Public Works

The City of San Antonio’s Department of Public Works Maintenance and Operations Division provides for engineering, maintenance and governance of the regulations for the City’s streets, storm water, and transportation. With over 650 employees the Division needed to increase their available space of offices and crew quarters. By choosing Ramtech and a traditional modular construction approach to the project, the City was able to meet their current need by placing the facility on an unused part of the parking lot while also planning for the eventual relocation of the building to another site. This 3,135 square foot facility features eight offices, men’s and women’s locker and shower areas, break room, and a large central assembly area.
