Ramtech as the design-build contractor, partnered with Wilson & Company and Thornton-Tomasetti to construct a two-story office at Los Alamos National Lab. Ramtech’s slab-on-grade system used 14’x60’ steel-framed modules for the Type II structure, enabling a flexible floor plan for 14 offices, open workspaces, breakrooms, and restrooms. Wilson & Company designed the civil, electrical, and mechanical systems while Thornton-Tomasetti handled the concrete foundation and site elements. The exterior featured horizontal steel siding and SBS roofing to provide an industrial aesthetic. DOE sustainability standards were met with a high-efficiency HVAC system. The offsite construction cut the build time in half, saving costs in the remote Los Alamos area despite strict security needs.

Los Alamos National Laboratory – Multi-Use Office Building

This two-story facility is comprised of 26 non-combustible steel- framed modular sections designed using Ramtech’s slab-on-grade permanent modular construction process. The materials used were specified to utilize sustainable construction methods. The exterior finishes combine a durable hi-rib horizontal metal panels with an EIFS stucco texture to accent the buildings geometry and blend in with the adjacent structures. The floor plan included 67 personal business offices in three sizes, along with an open office plan on both floors that can accommodate 12 freestanding spaces using custom furniture cubicles. The turnkey Multi-Use Office Building (MUOB) project required Ramtech to perform the site work including the extension and connection of utilities on the building site.

US Army Corps of Engineers – COF Warehouse Facility

Ramtech was selected as a strategic subcontractor to Hensel Phelps Construction Company and was responsible for the manufacturing and installation of twenty-four 18,000 square foot two-story buildings, and six 8,000 sq. ft. one-story buildings for the Army’s new Company Operation Facilities at Ft. Bliss, Texas. Originally started in April 2007 task orders 001-002-003 included requirements for Company Operation Facilities for the US Army Milcon expansion at Fort Bliss, Texas, three task orders were issued totaling $32 million. The projects requirement for multiple permanent buildings in a compressed construction time frame was an ideal application for Ramtech’s Accelerated Building System.

City of Arlington Water District – Dispatch Office

The city of Arlington, TX was faced with reorganizing their water department to meet the city’s growing demand for services. They needed a quick solution in order to relocate some of their administrative and engineering personnel from a different location to the Water District’s sprawling main compound. The solution was a six unit modular complex designed for an adjacent equipment yard area. The facility provides for private offices, engineering space, two conference rooms, and a business office with dispatch area. The 4,200 square foot building features a simulated stucco elastomeric paint finish, four five-ton wall-mounted HVAC units, and ADA compliant metal step and ramp assemblies.

US Army Corp of Engineers – Combat Aviation Brigade HQ

Ramtech provided full designbuild services for the development and construction of this two-story 99,050 square foot Combined Brigade/Battalion Headquarters building. As part of the Army’s Modularity Realignment program, the project is part of a $6B overall expansion project at Fort Bliss, and is one of six projects that Ramtech has participated in at the base. Designated to meet LEED Silver, Ramtech utilized its Accelerated Building System to meet the project requirements. The building is set on a six inch 4,000 psi concrete slab, and features a 100% brick masonry exterior and over 40 miles of comm/data wiring. The building features classrooms, private offices, conference rooms, and restrooms with shower facilities.

US Army Corp of Engineers – MP Battalion HQ

Ramtech provided full design-build services for the development and construction of this 14,500 sq. ft. two-story PMC Slab-on-Grade project. Meeting Leed Silver Certification requirements, the facility serves as the headquarters building for the Army’s 93rd Military Police Unit located at the UOF section of the base.

The ground floor incorporates three training classrooms, with the upper floor providing space for 14 private offices and three cubicle office areas. The building also features three conference rooms, two communication rooms, and a SIPRNET room. The building was designed to blend in with the existing architecture of the base by using a brick and EIFS exterior with a standing seam metal roof.

US Army – Multi-story Dormitory

This LEED Silver project is part of the MILCON Unaccompanied Enlisted Personnel Housing Advanced Individual Training Barracks at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. Ramtech was designated as a strategic subcontractor to Hensel Phelps Construction for the 116,480 square foot project, and was responsible for the manufacture, installation, and specific finish-out of the 152 individual modular sections that were used to produce the 272 room four-story building. All of the floor sections were designed and built as six-sided unitized boxes acting as rigid cubes when stacked together with each other. Because the AIT facility houses U.S. combat troops, the structure was built to meet the Army’s rigid Anti-Terrorism Force Protection construction standards and progressive collapse requirements for buildings three stories and above.

US Army Fort Meade – AV Training Facility

Housing studios, photography labs and journalism schools, the Defense Visual Information School (DVIS) was the Army’s primary facility for all forms of media training. Ramtech’s product and expertise was ideally suited for this fast-track project. Coordinating with the Corps and Maryland EPA, Ramtech developed the site and constructed / installed phase one. The successful execution of phase 1 lead the Corps to simply issued a change order for the second phase.

Veterans Administration – Outpatient Clinic

Ramtech provided full design-build services for the development and construction of this 8,500 square foot addition to the existing community-based outpatient clinic in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Because the original contractor was removed from the project for non-performance, Ramtech employed its Accelerated Building System to meet an expedited construction timeline. Located within two miles of the coast, the facility provided challenges to meet the foundation requirements due to a very shallow water table. The building features an EIFS exterior, multiple exam rooms, a TB isolation room, and an imaging center with a large x-ray area. A computer-controlled environmental management system was installed along with security and communications systems tied into the existing structure.
