A national energy company needed a relocatable office building serving as a template for future jobsites throughout the U.S. The design-build project yielded a building with high-end finishes, sustainable material use, and energy saving practices while allowing for the possibility of relocation or expansion in the future. The building façade is orientated to take advantage of the sight lines to a major interstate highway as well as material and contractor flow through the secure site. The building exterior highlights the main south facing entrance with deep blue vertical metal siding framed by the base-required neutral building siding color. The exterior split faced wainscot limestone finish further enhances the buildings curb appeal while meeting the LEED-based sustainable criteria.

Martin Marietta

When Martin Marietta required an in-plant breakroom that was more conveniently located to their common work areas, modular construction was deemed the best option in order to limit the impact to their 24/7 plant operations. Ramtech was able to design and install a 1,080 square foot facility with ten-foot-wide modules that fit into an area between the extensive piping and rigging of one of the cement plant’s kilns. R-panel metal siding and painted serrated OSHA-compliant stairs and ramps were then used to aesthetically blend in with the metallic look and feel of the surrounding structure. The interior features a large open break room and two restrooms, all with matte finished ceramic tile floors and a combination of a grey tile wainscot and FRP on the walls for easy cleaning.

Northwest Florida Beaches Airport

When the Panama City-Bay County Airport and Industrial District needed to increase their existing terminal space to relieve the crowded conditions that existed at two of their seven gates, they selected Ramtech to construct a 7,168 sf. Type II-b all steel permanent modular building to meet the requirement. Ramtech worked as a subcontractor to Allstate Construction of Tallahassee, Florida, providing the core and shell manufacturing of the modular sections, the installation of the building, and the finish-out of the exterior. The modular sections included the exterior walls with 24-gauge steel high-rib R-Panel siding, all door and window assemblies, interior walls with un-finished gypsum board and required shear walls, perimeter steel frame floor, and the EPDM roof assembly.

Denver International Airport

Ramtech provided a 38,920 square foot expansion to the Concourse A terminal that will accommodate regional jet aircraft and passengers at the Denver International Airport. The all steel relocatable modular building was built using Type IIb construction and will be used by the airport for a minimum of 5 to 10 years. Ramtech worked with Denver-based Wong Strauch Architects, PC in a design-assist role, and with Hensel Phelps and other contractors in a cooperative construction effort. Ramtech was responsible for the core and shell construction including the exterior cladding, interior walls with applied gypsum board, complete floor and ceiling assemblies, and the exterior wall and floor penetrations required for the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. The modular sections were installed by Ramtech on a concrete block pier type foundation system.

Mac Haik Auto Group – Sales Office

This 2,688 square foot four-unit complex was built as a pre-owned sales center that is connected with the Automobile Division’s George – town, Texas-based Ford dealership. Built using Ramtech’s traditional permanent modular construction approach, the facility features eight sales offices with 4’0 x 6’0 windows for easy viewing between rooms, a large customer waiting area, and an employee break room. The interior is finished with vinyl covered gyp – sum on the walls and Allure resilient laminate wood planks for the floor – ing. The exterior features a parapet wall design with a stucco finish on HardiePanel vertical siding. The step and ramp assembly utilizes the environmentally friendly Trex Decking and Railing system made from reclaimed plastic and wood. Heating and cooling of the facility is accommodated with two three-ton wall-mounted package units, zoned for maximum energy efficiency

Gulf Marine Fabricators – Office building

When Gulf Marine Fabricators needed to replace four small temporary buildings at their sprawling South Texas ship channel facility, they chose Ramtech to design, manufacture, and install this 13,600 square foot relocatable modular building complex. The 15 module facility is part of Gulf Marine’s contract requirement to provide engineering office space for approximately 75 Chevron USA personnel who will oversee the construction of the topsides for a dry tree Extended Tension Leg Platform that will be used in the $4 billion Big Foot deep water oil and gas development project in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The modular building features 72 private offices, two conference rooms, an IT server room, and a large records storage area.

NATO – Office Building

This 4,320 sf building provides office and engineering space in support of the final system integration and flight test activities for the Multinational MEADS Air Defense Program. Developed as a design-build project for El Paso-based CF Jordan Construction, the facility was installed on a heavily reinforced nine-inch concrete slab foundation designed to withstand any ground movement from testing activity around the surrounding area. To help achieve this stability, Ramtech attached the structure to 24 x 24 plinths, comprised of steel reinforced block piers connected to the concrete slab with #6 dowels and #3 horizontal ties. Built to meet Anti-Terrorism/ Force Protection compliance, the building incorporates vandal resistant security bars over the windows with fragment retention film on the windowpanes.

Southwest Airlines

Part of a $519 million capital improvement project at Dallas’ Love Field, this 10,752 square foot facility is comprised of two buildings that sit adjacent to each other on a pad-on-grade foundation atop the existing concrete. Separated by a two-hour site installed firewall, the modular buildings provide temporary administrative and executive office space for Southwest Airline’s to use as they manage Love Field’s terminal and gate expansion program. With extensive experience in managing airport improvement projects, Southwest selected Ramtech from among several other modular companies to supply the buildings which feature nine foot ceiling heights and VCG walls in the administrative office and a textured and painted interior in the executive suite.

Fikes Trucking

Working with a local developer, the Fikes Truck Line was looking to move from an older location to the fast growing suburb of Mansfield, Texas. After settling on a site that would accommodate an office and space for truck parking, Fikes chose a traditional modular building configured to meet the fast paced requirements of the trucking industry. Operating throughout the Midwest and Southern part of the US, Fikes specializes in hauling building materials, coil steel, structural steel, machinery and manufactured products, providing flatbed and heavy haul services to some of the largest shippers in the United States. Their 1,536 square foot building provides space for two private offices, a large dispatch and business office room, waiting area, and breakroom. The exterior is finished with a standard R-panel siding and the interior walls with vinyl covered gypsum.
